Laboratory

Our analytical laboratory is equipped to handle all of our production and packaging needs.  Having an onsite laboratory gives us the ability to monitor all of our products for quality, assuring you of consistency from delivery to delivery.  Batches are routinely analyzed for nutrient content and pH.  We also check the quality of raw material supplies before accepting them for general use.

Our laboratory is equipped with a combustion type analyzer to determine total nitrogen levels in both liquid and dry materials.  We have an atomic absorption spectrophotometer that allows us to analyze for potassium and micronutrients such as Iron and Zinc.  Two Liquid Chromatographs provide the means to determine the percentage of pesticides in many formulations, and to determine the amount of slow release nitrogen in our flagship product NBN-30.  All other necessary analysis are carried out using traditional bench chemistry techniques.  Morral Companies uses lab methods accepted by the fertilizer industry and participates in a check sample program to assure that these methods produce results consistent with other laboratories.

In addition to product quality issues, our lab is involved in developing new products and providing technical assistance to our customers.  This technical assistance may extend to performing lab analysis on customer provided samples, whether purchased from Morral Companies, LLC or blended at the farm.

For very reasonable fees, we can act as your quality assurance lab.  If you are cutting 32-0-0 UAN to 28-0-0, blending fertilizers, or have an accidental mixing of tanks, we can provide analytical results to you, often within days.  A lab fee is only a fraction of what you will save when you learn that you've been selling over formulated fertilizer, or minor compared to the customer dissatisfaction and fines that can occur when a nutrient deficiency is discovered.
